CONFESSION
& first holy communion;
CONFIRMATION WHEN CHILD IS 12 YEARS OLD

The parish is following the newest Archdiocese of Liverpool Scheme, with monthly meetings for parents and children - usually on the last Sunday of each month, after the 10.30 Mass, (i.e. 11.30-12.45) in the Parish Centre. The children make their First Confession in Advent, and will receive this Sacrament again in Lent and before their First Communion at Corpus Christi.
The children will be prepared for Confirmation when they attain 12 years of age.
marriages

In St Mary's Parish by arrangement with the Parish Priest. There is a preparation for marriage course usually consisting of four sessions, plus meetings to organise the order of Service and a rehearsal before the ceremony. Please note that both marriages and baptisms are the prerogative of the Parish Priest of the parish where you are resident.

anointing of the sick

This should be received by any Catholic who has a serious illness, or is facing serious surgery, or is seriously weakened by age or illness. One does not have to be at death's door to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. Often the Sacrament brings about an improvement, not only in the recipient's spiritual and mental condition, but also physically, enabling them to benefit from the medical care they are receiving.
Please contact Fr Marsden.
funerals
Your undertaker will contact Fr Marsden to make arrangements for a Funeral Mass or Service, as you wish, followed by committal at a cemetery or crematorium.
